PARTNER PROJECTS
(6) Borneo's five small wild cats - There are presently no conservation efforts on behalf of
these interesting small wild cats.

(7) Iran's small wild cats - Surveys are needed to determine the geographic extent and
threats to Iran's six small wild cats.

(8) Reintroduction of the Clouded leopard into Cambodia - Camera trap survey to
determine prey base is first needed before a soft release can take place.

(9)
Save China's Tiger in China and at the rewildling center in South Africa - Tiger experts
have written off the South China tiger (
Pathera tigris amoyensis) because it is likely extinct
in the wild.  However, nearly 100 South China tigers exist in captive breeding centers in
China and South Africa. In co-operation with the Chinese government this project seeks to
re-wild captive born South China tigers, establish a prey-base for them in China, and
return them to the wild in China.
(10) Pumas are Chile's most persecuted wild cat.   Despite federal laws
protecting pumas, local people, fearing the puma for a variety of myths
and legends, still mercilessly persecute them.
(11) Caracals have virtually nothing know about them
throughout their range.  This project in Namibia aims to
document caracal natural history and ecology in areas with and
without human persecution.  Data gathered from this research
is used to develop conservation strategies and mitigate
conflicts with farmers.
